School trip to China's Capital

Introduction

trips to Beijing

School trips to China are becoming more and more common among forward-thinking middle and high schools worldwide. As an award-winning private school in Beijing, the Sinology Institute would like to be your reliable partner on the ground in China.

We can help you with the organization of the same activities in and around Beijing that a common travel agent can offer you but pride ourselves in adding an academic dimension. Our academic services consist of the following:

Mandarin Chinese classes at our school during your stay and immediate application in real-life situations

Online Mandarin Chinese classes for your group before arrival

Campus visit of our partner university, the Beijing Foreign Studies University

  Interesting lectures

Last, but not least, with our school located in an old Beijing neighborhood, your students have a base to return to after their daily activities.

Sample itinerary

Through our more than ten years experience on the ground, we can also offer you invaluable advice on travel visa, accommodation, transport and even where to eat your local meals.

A sample 10 days/9 nights itinerary

  • Day 1. After arriving at the airport and checking in at your hotel, we have a welcome lunch at the Sinology Institute. This will be followed by a walk through the old Beijing neighbourhoods, along the inner city Houhai lake and the Drum and Bell Towers. In the evening there is a welcome party at the Sinology Institute.

  • Day 2. Classes start at 9 in the morning every day. The first day topics are greetings and other basic Chinese. In the afternoon we visit the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square. In the evening, we visit the Wangfujing Night market.

  • Day 3. After classes in the morning we visit the Temple of Heaven and the Pearl Market. Students are encouraged to use their newly gained knowledge of Chinese numbers to haggle with the local salespeople.

  • Day 4. Our Tai Chi master welcomes us to class at 7am. After our Chinese classes in the morning, we visit the Summer Palace in Beijing’s Northwest. Students are free after the excursion.

  • Day 5. After classes in the morning, we make our way to Beijing Zoo to visit the Giant Panda. Afterwards, we go back to the school for an evening of making our own Chinese style dumplings.

  • Day 6. There are no classes in the morning as the Great Wall takes most of the day to visit. We finish the day with some instruction on how to administer a traditional Chinese massage.

  • Day 7. The students get a whole day off to rest up or do what they would like to do.

  • Day 8. After Chinese classes in the morning, the group is headed to the 798 art district.

  • Day 9. After classes in the morning, we head to Beihai Park. In the evening, a traditional Beijing Roast Duck farewell dinner awaits us in the Beijing Hutong.

  • Day 10. Students check out of their hotel and head to the airport.

The price for the sample 10 days/9 nights school trip to China's capital is 3,000 RMB/student. This includes all activities, Chinese classes (daily 9am till noon except weekends) and English speaking guide. Activities, classes and other schedules can be arranged according to your liking. Meals (unless stated), insurance, flights, visas, accommodation and local transport are not included, we can, however, assist you in the process. Make sure to compare prices, we are confident that by working with us, your trip will work out cheaper than by making an inclusive purchase through a travel agent.

Good to know:

* Minimum participants 15 PAX

* Actual itineraries need to be at least 7 days/6 nights and can be as long as desired.

* We suggest each student to bring about 200 RMB per day to cover basic living expenses such as food, local transport, gifts etc. Money can be withdrawn locally at ATMs using international credit cards such as Visa and Mastercard.
