5 Reasons You Should Be Excited About Spring in the Jing

We have endured through another Beijing winter. The worst part of the year in Beijing is over and we are all ready to leave the solitude of winter hibernation. Who is ready to spend time outside?

We can all see the light at the end of the tunnel because Spring is in the air as well as some questionable chemicals.

1. No More Layers

You won’t need ten layers to feel comfortable. A pair of sunglasses(太阳镜) and a light cardigan(羊毛衫) is all you will need!

2. Bicycling around the City

Bicycling in the winter is awful. The wind() blows through your soul and brings your eyes to tears(流泪).

Bicycling is the best way to get anywhere in Beijing as well as good way to exercise for those short on time. Bicycling is about to make its comeback!

3. Doing Everything Outside.

From Festivals, Concerts(音乐会), Barbeques, Cook-offs, a nice cold beer on a cool spring night. We can come out of our winter hibernation and enjoy the city. From the Great Wall Festival to Strawberry Music Festival, there are so many opportunities to hear great music outside.

4. Day Trips

Day trips(一日游) out of the city: There is so much nature to explore. Spring means the perfect weather for hiking(爬山) and exploring the beautiful scenery outside of the concrete jungle. Gorges(峡谷), Mountains, Rivers , and parks(公园) are at your fingertips.

5. Camping on the Great Wall

Perhaps, frowned upon by local authorities, camping on the Great Wall(在长城露营) is an unforgettable(难忘的) experience.
